Hi,
it's been quiet here! Y'day completed a final webpage on a trip I made in Oct07 in NW Ontario, visiting seaplanes bases and see what's there. Kenora - Vermilion Bay - Ear Falls - Red lake - Dryden - Sioux Lookout - Savant Lake - Ignace - Atikokan - Fort Frances and Nestor Falls. A page dedicated to each one of these destinations which often offered more than one operator. Start at http://www.RuudLeeuw.com/canada07-kenora.htm Enjoy! |

Hi Ruud,
The first time I came in contact with bush planes was in a movie produced in the 1940's called, "Captain Of The Clouds" starring Jimmy Cagney. It was about a bush pilot trying to join up with the Canadian Royal Air Force. It had great shots of the old classic bush planes...all single radial engined I believe. The film was in color...and showed the striking colors of Canada and the aircraft. I think I remember seeing Ballancas and really old Cessnas. Anyway they were aircraft of the 1930's. I think the movie may still be on the market in the format of video tape and possibly dvd. Love the big Otters both single and multi. I sure miss seeing the old Norsman though. Thanks again for the photos...and keep'em coming. Best, Doug |
